The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is now capable of raising sufficient funds domestically to pay the salaries of its civil servants.
A year ago, Minister of Finance Bihi Egeh stated that the government required budget support to pay salaries and cover shortfalls.
A year later the situation has improved drastically to an extent that domestic revenue handles these expenses.
He added that the government is working hard and is committed to achieving self-sufficiency in the annual budget.
