Somalia Orders Ethiopia to Shut Consulates in Garowe and Hargeisa

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has ordered Ethiopia to shut its consulates in Garowe and Hargeisa.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows that Ethiopia has seven days to close both consulates.

Somalia ordered this after accusing Ethiopia of interfering with its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This is after a delegation of senior officials of the Puntland administration visited Addis Ababa for a series of meetings.

It is believed that Ethiopia will soon sign multiple deals with Puntland.

Furthermore, the Council of Ministers also ordered Ahmed A. Haji Adam, the Somali Ambassador to Ethiopia, to return to Mogadishu with immediate effect.
