Somalia Participates in UN Habitat Assembly in Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya – A Somali government delegation led by Minister of Public Works, Dr. Elmi M. Nur, took part in the second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Assembly, convened every four years, serves as the top global decision-making body on sustainable urbanization and human settlements.

It brings together all 193 UN member states to cast votes and shape the global urban agenda under the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

Somalia’s participation highlights its commitment to addressing housing, urban development, and infrastructure challenges amid ongoing national recovery and state-building efforts.
