The Ministry of Health has established the country’s first quarantine center. It will use the center for quarantining people from countries with a huge number of Coronavirus patients and fatalities.
Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) took this step because of the rising cases of new infections around the world. Through this center, it will monitor those it suspects of having developed the virus that has disrupted life around the world.
Ministry of Health has asked all Somalis and visitors from areas where the virus has hit hard to follow the protocols it has set in place. Any person who fails to adhere to these protocols will not be discharged from the center.
The move follows news that a Somali citizen arrived in the country from China. He was detained at the international airport in Mogadishu for monitoring. Coronavirus is a highly dangerous disease that spreads fast. It has been reported in more than 100 countries around the world.
