Doha, Qatar – Somalia’s State Minister of Communications and Technology, Ahmed Diri, met with Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai, on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress (MWC) Doha 2025 to explore strengthening bilateral cooperation in the digital field.
The discussions centered on broadening collaboration between the nations, especially in digitizing government services, building ICT infrastructure, and improving cybersecurity to match swift technological progress.
The State Minister informed the Qatari counterparts about Somalia’s advances in updating public services and the government’s initiatives to create a unified digital platform that allows citizens easier access to vital services.
In response, the Qatari Minister affirmed his government’s intent to boost aid for digital governance efforts, training for public sector workers, and modern communication infrastructure, while reiterating Qatar’s support for Somalia’s digital transformation projects.
Both sides agreed to hasten and intensify joint activities to advance Somalia’s digital agenda.
