Somalia Ready to Hire Additional 3,000 Teachers

Somalia is prepared to hire an additional 3,000 teachers.

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) launched a fresh recruitment exercise for teachers on Monday, February 6.

Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, the federal Minister of Education, added that the country has a shortage of 3,000 teachers.

He officially launched the recruitment exercise in Mogadishu.

The education minister added that the government would make the recruitment exercise as open and transparent as possible.

All members of the public are free to apply.

The minister indicated that the government was considering hiring 100,000 teachers for schools around the country.

However, the government would focus on recruiting 3,000 teachers first.
