Somalia has received an additional 115,150 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines from the United States.
The East African nation received the donation from the US Embassy in Mogadishu on Thursday, July 28.
The United States donated the vaccines through Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
It also partnered with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the African Union (AU) to deliver the vaccines to Somalia.
The COVAX program made the donation and delivery possible.
