Somalia Receives 25 Tons of Supplies from Maltese NGO

MOAS, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Malta, has delivered 25 tons of nutritional supplies to Somalia.

The delivery was part of the NGO’s program known as #MissionOfHope.

The NGO, which was formed in 2013, offers humanitarian assistance to different countries around the world.

It mostly focuses on people from the most vulnerable communities.

This week, it delivered ready-to-use supplementary food specially formulated to treat children aged over 6 months who are diagnosed with moderate acute malnutrition (MAM).

Typically, such children have to go through a treatment regime that lasts between 12-16 weeks. The supplementary food sets the young children off to the desired treatment.

The supplies are critical considering that around 4.5 million children in Somalia are at risk because of acute shortage of food.
