Somalia received 28 tons of COVID-19 medical supplies from Saudi Arabia.
The plane carrying the supplies arrived in Mogadishu on Monday, October 25.
According to the Saudi government, the supplies are designed to help the East African nation to curb the spread of the virulent disease.
Lately, Somalia has been recording huge COVID-19 numbers.
The country’s Ministry of Health indicated that Somalia is experiencing a fresh wave of the disease.
Saudi Arabia donated the supplies through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSFrelief).
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, Somalia’s Minister of Health, was at the airport to receive the supplies on behalf of the government and people of Somalia.
She expressed her gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the support.
