China has announced a support package that includes a grant of 200 million yuan (equivalent to 28 million US dollars) to assist Somalia with its immediate priorities.
This announcement came during a meeting between Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday.
President Mohamud and Pr wident Jinping met on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.
The grant is intended to bolster Somalia’s efforts in addressing urgent needs and further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
