The Turkish government has handed over several military barracks that it constructed to authorities in Somalia.
On March 6, Turkey’s Ministry of Defense broke this news through Twitter.
In its announcement, the Turkish defense ministry said that it was handing over the barracks as part of its contribution towards restructuring Somali Armed Forces (SAF).
Historically, Turkey and Somalia enjoy one of the most vibrant diplomatic and trade relations.
Ties between the two nations grew stronger in 2011 when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Somalia.
Apart from cooperating on military affairs, Turkey partners with Somalia on health and education to mention a few sectors.
