Somalia Records 12 New COVID-19 Cases

Somalia has recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases from samples tested in the last 24 hours, the country’s Ministry of Health has confirmed.

On Wednesday, Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur confirmed the new cases during her press briefing.

She said that six of the new cases were recorded in Mogadishu while Puntland and Jubbaland had four and two cases respectively.

Consequently, the tally of positive cases in the country has shot to 3,275 while deaths have now increased to 95.

Recently, Somalia has been recording low COVID-19 numbers, which the country’s international partners attribute to lack of adequate testing facilities.
