On Monday, Somalia’s Ministry of Health confirmed 18 new cases of COVID-19 in the country from samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The health ministry announced that the number of people diagnosed with the novel coronavirus has now reached 3,196.
Moreover, no new deaths have been recorded thus leaving the tally of fatalities at 93 throughout the Horn of Africa country.
With 22 new recoveries, the health ministry announced that the number of people to have recovered from the disease now stands at 1,543.
Ten of the new cases were recorded in Somaliland with the remaining eight reported in Puntland.
Further, 16 were male while the remaining two were female patients.
The health ministry continues to urge Somalis to observe the protocols it has put in place to curb the spread of the virulent disease around the East African nation
