Somalia Records 271 New COVID-19 Cases

Somalia has recorded 271 new cases of COVID-19 from samples tested in the last 48 hours.

On April 14, the Ministry of Health published new COVID-19 numbers.

In its latest update, the health ministry stated that Somaliland had 105 of the new cases followed by Puntland with 88.

Galmudug and HirShabelle had 35 and 20 new cases respectively.

Southwest, Banadir, and Jubbaland each recorded 12, 8, and 3 new COVID-19 cases respectively.

Meanwhile, Somalia recorded 32 new COVID-19 deaths that pushed the tally of fatalities to 656.

The tally of confirmed cases now stands at 12,837.

On the positive side, Somalia recorded 76 new recoveries that have taken the number of recoveries to 5,346.

The health ministry continues to urge Somalis to remain vigilant and follow the COVID-19 protocols designed to curb the spread of the deadly disease.
