Somalia Records 326 New COVID-19 Cases

Somalia has recorded 326 new cases of the deadly COVID-19.

On September 9, the Ministry of Health announced these figures while providing the latest updates.

According to the health ministry, these cases were from 1,214 samples that were tested in various parts of the country over the last 72 hours.

The East African nation now has 18,273 COVID-19 cases since the first patient was diagnosed with the virulent disease last year.

Somaliland was responsible for 133 of the new cases.

Banadir followed with 86 while Puntland had 38. Jubaland (29), Galmudug (26), and Southwest (14) also had quite high numbers.

Further, 12 more people died from the disease thus pushing the fatalities to 1,017. With 128 people recovering from the disease, the country now has 8,926 recoveries.
