Somalia Records 6 New COVID-19 Deaths

Somalia has recorded six new COVID-19 deaths, a situation that has pushed the number of fatalities to 969 since the disease was first confirmed in the East African nation last year.

Other than that, the Ministry of Health also confirmed 97 new COVID-19 cases, which have seen the total cases increase to 17,399.

Somaliland led with 40 cases followed by Puntland and Banadir with 23 and 20 cases respectively. Jubaland was responsible for 11 of the cases while Galmudug had 3.

Ninety-seven new recoveries were recorded. Consequently, Somalia now has 8,460 recoveries.

Once again, female patients were responsible for most of the cases with 57 while the remaining 40 were male.
