Somalia has recorded 64 new cases of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health announced the latest figures on Wednesday, August 5.
According to the health ministry, the country’s national tally now has recorded 15,658 COVID-19 cases since the first one was reported last year.
The health ministry confirmed that the new cases were from 1,065 samples that its officers tested around the country in the last 24 hours.
Banadir had 35 of the new cases while the rest were from Puntland (23), Galmudug (3), and Somaliland (3).
Furthermore, three more Somalis succumbed to the disease thus bringing the tally of deaths to 832.
On the positive news, the ministry updated the tally of recoveries to 7,661 after 28 more people recovered from the deadly disease.
