The tally of COVID-19 cases in Somalia has now reached 16,399 after the country’s Ministry of Health released fresh details on August 16.
On Monday, the health ministry briefed the country that 81 new cases had been recorded.
Banadir with 55 had majority of the new cases. Puntland came second with 19 followed by Somaliland and Galmudug with 6 and one respectively.
According to the health ministry, the new cases had 31 males and 50 females.
Twenty-two COVID-19 patients have recovered thus pushing the tally of recoveries to 7,969. The nine new deaths have increased the fatalities to 892.
