Somalia has recorded 92 new COVID-19 cases that push the tally of people diagnosed with the disease since last year to 16,195.
The Ministry of Health released the latest updates on August 12.
In its release, the health ministry indicated that the latest cases were from 1,214 samples that it collected and tested from different parts of the country.
Banadir continues to lead with another 57 cases, followed by Puntland with 29 cases. Jubaland has 3, Somaliland 2, and Southwest 1.
Additionally, 42 of the cases were male while the remaining 50 were females.
Sadly, six patients lost their lives to take the death toll to 870.
Thirty-four people recovered from the disease thus pushing the tally of recoveries to 7,888.
This week, Somalia has received donations of COVID-19 vaccines from the United States and the French governments to help vaccinate its citizens.
