Somalia Records 95 New COVID-19 Cases in a Week

Somalia has recorded 95 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic from samples tested in the last one week.

The Ministry of Health published the latest COVID-19 statistics on December 17.

In its latest update, the ministry indicates that the East African nation now has 23,169 COVID-19 cases.

Banadir, with 82, was responsible for most of the new infections.

Somaliland and Puntland followed with 9 and 4 cases respectively.

Meanwhile, the country had no deaths from COVID-19 for the first time in a long while.

At the same time, 186 patients recovered fully from the disease to push the tally of recoveries to 12,903 while deaths remain at 1,333.
