Somalia’s Ministry of Health confirmed that the country has now recorded close to 3,000 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic was first reported.
On Sunday, the health ministry confirmed 23 more cases thus pushing the tally to 2,961, according to Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the minister in charge of this department.
Out of the newly reported cases, 22 are male while the rest are female.
Furthermore, Dr. Abikar also reported two more CPVID-19 deaths. Consequently, she confirmed that the country had now lost 92 people to the virulent disease.
The new cases are distributed in Hargeisa and Puntland, which have 16 and 5 patients respectively.
Both Benadir and Jubbaland have recorded a single new case each.
As for recoveries, Dr. Abikar confirmed that 21 more patients had recovered thus bringing the tally to 973.
