Somalia has firmly stated that it will not participate in any plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza, following reports in Israeli and British media suggesting that breakaway and autonomous regions of Somalia, such as Somaliland and Puntland, could potentially take in Gazans.
According to a report by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, a source within the Somali foreign ministry emphasized that Somalia would not be involved in any “displacement policies planned by Washington against Palestinians.”
The source also clarified that the Somali government would only issue an official statement if there were an official comment from the White House regarding the expulsion of Gazans to Somaliland or Puntland.
This stance reflects Somalia’s commitment to supporting Palestinian rights and resisting external pressures to participate in policies that could further destabilize the region.
