Somalia remains committed to the full implementation of the ongoing economic programs.
These were the sentiments of Dr. Elmi M. Nur, the federal Minister of Finance, on Tuesday, October 18.
Dr. Nur was speaking on the recent meetings in Washington DC between Somalia government officials and some of the country’s international partners.
The finance minister had led a team of officials from the ministry to the United States for talks with the representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Their meetings took place last week.
Today, Dr. Nur stated that Somalia would not relent on its economic programs despite global challenges, economic slowdown, soaring inflation, and shockingly high food prices.
