The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has announced a new set of conditions for Kenyans who wish to travel to Somalia.
Under the new plans, Kenyans are now required to apply for visas at the Somali Embassy in whichever country they are traveling from.
In the past, Kenyans were granted visas upon arriving in Somalia.
The new rule applies to all Kenyans and people who hold Kenyan passports, including those with diplomatic passports.
Lately, the relations between Kenya and Somalia have deteriorated and the new rule appears to be a response to the cold war brewing between the two neighbors.
The new rule takes effect from December 13, 2020.
A communiqué from the Immigration and Naturalization Directorate dated December 7 spells out these new instructions.
