Somali PM Holds Talks with Moroccan Counterpart on Improving Bilateral Relations

RABAT, Morocco – Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, engaged in a strategic discussion today in Rabat with Morocco’s Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch. The high-level talks, occurring during PM Barre’s official visit, centered on reinforcing diplomatic relations and broadening economic collaboration between the two countries.

In the bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Barre delivered a detailed overview of Somalia’s notable advancements in political, security, and diplomatic fields. He particularly highlighted the Federal Government’s accomplishments in enacting democratic reforms and the pivotal move to a “one person, one vote” electoral model, reflecting Somalia’s dedication to inclusive governance and stability.

PM Akhannouch received the Somali delegation warmly and discussed the strategic importance of the Morocco-Somalia partnership. He underscored the importance of intensifying cooperation, especially in trade, investment, and public diplomacy, to further the common goals of both populations.
