At the panel discussion of the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit in Turkey, Somalia’s Minister of Petroleum, Dahir Shire, announced that Somalia is preparing to begin extracting its own natural resources “as soon as possible.”
He emphasized the country’s readiness to leverage its untapped oil, gas, and mineral wealth to support economic recovery and sustainable development.
Shire highlighted ongoing reforms in Somalia’s regulatory and investment frameworks aimed at attracting foreign investors and ensuring transparency in resource management.
