Somalia Signs a New Partnership Agreement with the UK

Somalia has signed a new partnership agreement with the United Kingdom.

The two nations signed the agreement during the Global Food Security Summit that has been running in London from Monday this week.

Somalia co-hosted the summit with the UK.

The agreement seeks to boost security, governance, and economic development in Somalia.

Ahead of the Summit, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak held talks on a number of issues pertaining to their respective nations.

They agreed that the UK would support the transition from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to Somali security agencies.
