Cairo, Egypt – Somalia’s Minister of Defence, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, and the Chief of the Somali National Army (SNA), Gen. Odowa Yusuf Rage, attended the EDEX 2025 International Defence Exhibition at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, engaging in talks to enhance defence cooperation and pursue industrial partnerships.
The Somali delegation highlighted ongoing initiatives to modernize the nation’s defence sector, build local capabilities, and acquire advanced technologies via collaborations with international defence manufacturers.
They commended Egypt’s successful hosting of the event and its rising prominence as a forum for global defence discussions, capability evaluations, and technology sharing.
The defence minister and army chief stressed the need for continued expert visits and technical exchanges to identify key cooperation areas and advance Somalia’s broader security sector development.
