Somalia has submitted an application to join the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
Jibril Abdirashid Haji, the Minister of Commerce, submitted the application on behalf of the East African nation.
Haji forwarded the application on Wednesday.
He handed over the application to Larry Andre, the United States Ambassador to Somalia.
While receiving the application, Amb. Andre assured Somalia that joining AGOA Beneficiary Country would allow it to export products to the US.
Furthermore, the opportunity would enable Somalia to enjoy trade with the US without trade barriers.
