The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has suspended the recruitment and exportation of Somali workers.
The government, through the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, announced this suspension on Thursday, November 17.
As per the statement from the labor ministry, the recruitment and exportation of Somali workers have been unregulated for a long time.
Consequently, the potential for abuse is quite high.
The government took the action after noting the rising complaints from many Somali workers in foreign countries.
Somali workers have been complaining of abuse by their employers and other people in foreign countries.
