Somalia should expect cholera outbreak in the next few weeks and days when heavy rains start.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) heavy rains are expected in the country in the next few days.
Apart from flooding, the rains will bring an outbreak of cholera too.
OCHA stated that the upcoming rainy season would leave much of the country reeling under the outbreak of cholera.
Areas that had not seen the disease for the last 10 years or so will be affected too.
Consequently, OCHA has called for $5.9 million in humanitarian intervention.
