Somalia to Experience Reduction in Rainfall

Somalia is expected to experience a drastic reduction of rainfall in the next few days, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The announcement follows recent observations in Toghdheer, Wooqoyi Galbeed, and Awdal.

Those three regions have witnessed prolonged dry periods since the end of September 2020.

FAO and other weather experts expect the situation to continue into the next few months. Additionally, they expect the situation to spread into the rest of the country.

Specifically, FAO has said that the southern areas, which rely on rainfall for their agriculture, could suffer more than other parts of the East African nation.
