Somalia to Hold National Census in October 2024

Somalia has set the date for its eagerly awaited national population census.

The East African nation will hold the census in October 2024.

Next year’s census will be the first in Somalia for roughly 50 years.

Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) announced the commencement of the preparatory process for the census.

Dr. Ali Abdi Ige said the government is to hire 30,000 enumerators for the exercise.

Dr. Ige heads the Somali Population and Housing Census.
