Somalia has announced its intentions to open a diplomatic mission in Morocco.
Abshir Omar Jama Huruse, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, made this announcement on Saturday.
Currently, Huruse is in New York attending the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He made the announcement after holding discussions with Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The two met on the sidelines of the ongoing UNGA.
Huruse clarified that Somalia would be signing a formal cooperation plan with Morocco soon to pave way for the opening of the new diplomatic mission.
According to sources, the new diplomatic mission could be based in Rabat.
