Somalia to Pursue Improved Economic Cooperation with Serbia

Somalia has announced its intentions to pursue improved economic cooperation with Serbia.

Khalifa Abdi Omar, Somalia’s Minister of Trade, announced this during his meeting with Nikola Selakovic, the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The two ministers met on the 60th Anniversary of the first Non-Aligned Movement Conference.

During the meeting, Selakovic spoke of the rich history of diplomatic relations that Serbia and Somalia enjoy.

Selakovic also hailed the reopening of the Somali Embassy in Belgrade.

In his speech, Selakovic expressed belief that the Embassy’s reopening would lead to intense and improved economic cooperation between the two nations.

Specifically, he listed trade, agriculture, education, and ICT as the areas where Somalia and Serbia need improved cooperation.
