Somalia to Receive $10.5 Million in Drought Support from UK, US, and Qatar

Three countries have promised to support drought response measures in Somalia to the tune of $10.5 million.

Qatar, the United Kingdom, and the United States will deliver the funds to Somalia through an initiative that is to be launched soon.

They announced this following a meeting between the US Agency for International Aid, the Qatari Fund for Development, and the British Embassy in Mogadishu.

They will do this through the Building Resilient Communities in Somalia (BRCiS).

The initiative will accomplish two primary functions.

First, it would sustain the delivery of lifesaving services to all parts of the East African nation. Secondly, it would enhance recovery efforts within the next six months.
