Somalia to Receive $151 Million from USAID for Humanitarian Assistance

Somalia is to receive $151 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Samantha Power, the USAID Administrator, announced the donation during the ongoing 77 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

USAID announced the donation on Thursday, September 22.

Through the fresh batch of funding, the World Food Programme (WFP) would now have the finances required to provide the much-needed food assistance to over 3.6 million Somalis.
