Somalia will receive military equipment from the European Peace Facility (EPF).
Somali National Army (SNA) announced that EPF would be delivering “military equipment that’s designed to deliver lethal force” soon.
EPF is part of the European Union Council (EUC).
The equipment SNA is to receive from EPF is valued at over $1.1 million.
According to EPF and EUC, the donation would allow Somalia to improve the capacity of its military personnel who would now undergo training at the General Dhagabadan Training Center.
The donation is the first by EPF since the United Nations lifted the three-decade arms embargo against Somalia.
