Somalia is ready for increased engagement with the United Nations and the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) on environmental policy and collaboration.
This emerged in a meeting between Souef Mohamed El-Amine, Ms. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, and Khadija Mohamed Al Makhzoumi.
El-Amine, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission (SRCC), visited Makhzoumi together with Kacyira.
Kacyira is the Head of the UN Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS).
Makhzoumi, the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change, expressed gratitude to ATMIS and the UN for the support accorded to Somalia on environmental matters.
They all agreed to reinforce the relationship between Somalia, the UN, and ATMIS.
