Somalia Unveils 2024 Quarterly Bulletins to Drive Data-Informed Development

Mogadishu, Somalia — The Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) has officially released the complete set of Quarterly Statistical Bulletins for 2024, offering a comprehensive overview of the country’s economic performance and key development indicators over the past year.

These bulletins, which draw on verified data from various government ministries and institutions, serve as a vital resource for policymakers, researchers, and development partners. They highlight trends in areas such as GDP growth, inflation, trade, agriculture, employment, and public finance—essential metrics for guiding evidence-based decisions.

According to the SNBS, the release marks a significant step toward institutionalizing a culture of transparency and data-driven governance in Somalia.

“These publications reflect our unwavering commitment to producing timely, credible, and high-quality statistics in line with international best practices,” said an SNBS spokesperson.

The quarterly bulletins are expected to play a central role in monitoring the implementation of the National Transformation Plan—Somalia’s strategic roadmap for sustainable development, economic recovery, and inclusive growth. By providing stakeholders with accurate and up-to-date data, the SNBS is helping to ensure that decisions are rooted in facts, not assumptions.

Development partners, including international financial institutions and humanitarian agencies, have praised Somalia’s efforts to strengthen its national statistical system. Enhanced data availability is seen as a cornerstone for progress in areas ranging from fiscal policy to climate resilience and social protection.

As Somalia continues to rebuild its institutions and economy, the SNBS has reaffirmed its pledge to support national development through accessible, high-impact data that fosters accountability, trust, and forward planning.

The 2024 bulletins are now publicly available and can be accessed through the SNBS website and official government platforms.
