Mogadishu — In a historic milestone for Somalia’s future, senior government officials, representatives from the diplomatic community, and civil society leaders convened in Mogadishu on June 23-24, 2025, to officially launch the ambitious Centennial Vision 2060 (CV2060).
The two-day summit marked the beginning of a transformative national blueprint aimed at fostering sustainable growth, political stability, and economic prosperity over the next four decades. Officials emphasized that CV2060 will guide Somalia toward long-term resilience, good governance, and inclusive development across all sectors.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre called the launch a “landmark commitment” to Somalia’s recovery and modernization. Other speakers underscored the need for broad-based cooperation between the government, civil society, and international partners to successfully implement the vision.
The CV2060 initiative is expected to align with Somalia’s development priorities and regional commitments, setting a clear path toward a stable, prosperous, and self-reliant nation by its centenary of independence.
