Somalia’s Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Mohamud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah Beenebeene, recently met with Christopher Pycroft, the Development Director at the United Kingdom Embassy in Mogadishu.
They met to discuss the implementation of the National Transformation Plan (NTP) 2025-2029 and donor support for key priorities.
The discussions also addressed the impact of reductions in Official Development Assistance (ODA) and reaffirmed a commitment to closer collaboration for sustainable development.
The NTP 2025-2029 is Somalia’s strategic blueprint for achieving inclusive growth, resilience, and sustainable development.
Spearheaded by the Federal Government of Somalia, the NTP aims to address the country’s most pressing challenges through coordinated efforts across key sectors.
This meeting underscores the importance of international partnerships in advancing Somalia’s development agenda and navigating challenges such as ODA reductions.
The collaboration between Somalia and the UK aims to ensure the successful implementation of the NTP and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
