Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Minister of Defence, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, met with United States Ambassador Richard Riley on Thursday in Mogadishu to reaffirm the strong bilateral defense partnership between the two countries.
The discussions focused on boosting security cooperation, with both sides underscoring the importance of continued collaboration in countering threats posed by terrorist groups, including Al-Shabaab and ISIS.
The United States reiterated its support for Somalia’s stabilization efforts and highlighted the shared commitment to promoting regional stability and long-term security in the Horn of Africa.
