Somalia has expressed delight at news that talks between Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
News regarding commencement of the talks emerged on Saturday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement dated May 6 stating Somalia’s great pleasure and delight at the latest developments.
The talks, which are to take place in Jeddah, are possible through the facilitation of Saudi Arabia and the United States.
In the statement, Somalia called for a silencing of the guns.
It also called on the warring sides to iron out their differences through peaceful means.
