Somalia is yet to elect 56 House of the People (Lower House) Members of Parliament (MPs) with the deadline only five days away.
Initially, the country had a February 25 deadline to meet.
However, the recent National Consultative Council (NCC) conference in Mogadishu extended the deadline to March 15.
Currently, Somalia has elected 219 MPs to represent different regions at the federal parliament in Mogadishu.
Essentially, the country’s Lower House is home to 275 lawmakers.
