During its weekly meeting held today, Somalia’s cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, praised the country’s recent military successes against the Al-Shabaab militant group and assessed ongoing security operations.
In a statement, the Council also endorsed amendments to the Civil Service Law, aimed at modernizing the system and safeguarding workers’ rights as part of the National Transformation Plan (2025–2029). The reforms seek to enhance governance and align public sector operations with the government’s development agenda.
