Somalia’s Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) seized a cache of explosives from Al-Shabaab fighters on October 16.
CTU, which is a unit of the Somali Police Force (SPF), captured the weapons during a security operation carried out in Afgoye.
According to security sources, the militants planned to use the explosives in an attack within Lower Shabelle.
Further, the security agents also captured several materials that the militants use for making bombs.
