Somalia has seen the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country increase by 95 to bring the tally to 1,689.
The Ministry of Health confirmed the numbers today during the daily press conferences designed to keep the country up to date with the latest COVID-19 news.
Nevertheless, the Federal Government of Somalia is yet to provide information regarding the number of laboratory tests that the health ministry has carried out.
As per the latest reports, Somaliland recorded 72 new cases, which is the highest number in all parts of the country.
The announcement comes despite the efforts made by the government to curb the spread of the disease in the country.
Humanitarian agencies have also chipped in to complement government efforts to ensure that more people do not contract the disease.
Somalia is currently reeling from the effects of the virulent disease, which killed five more people in the country.
