Somalia’s COVID-19 Numbers Increase as 22 More People Die

Somalia’s COVID-19 numbers increased yet again after the Ministry of Health published the latest figures on the pandemic.

On September 18, the health ministry released its latest figures.

In the update, the ministry confirmed 184 new cases from 2,809 samples tested from various parts of the country in the last 72 hours.

Once again, Somaliland led with 113 cases. Banadir and Puntland followed with 28 and 23 new cases respectively.

HirShabelle only had a single case compared to the three that Galmudug recorded.

Jubaland contributed 16 cases to the new numbers.

Consequently, 19,004 cases of the deadly disease have now been confirmed in the country.

Sadly, with 22 new deaths reported on Saturday, the East African nation has now lost 1,063 people to this deadly disease.

Recoveries now stand at 9,191 after 53 people recovered from the disease.
