Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Takes Oath of Office

Mahdi M. Gulaid, the newly reappointed Deputy Prime Minister in the Federal Government of Somalia has taken his oath of office.

On Monday, October 26, Mahdi arrived at the House of Representatives where he took the oath of office.

Afterward, the Deputy Prime Minister said that he would continue trusting and praying to God to support him to perform his national duties.

Last week, on October 19, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble reappointed Mahdi as his Deputy Prime Minister.

Mahdi had served in the same role under the immediate former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire before the Lower House kicked the latter out of office in late July 2020.
